Our Main Warehouses: Newark and Savannah
TRT operates many warehouses — our main ones sit at two major ports, so cargo can be stored close to where it enters or leaves the country. In Newark, our main space totals 150,000 square feet: a 120,000-square-foot warehouse on 20 acres of yard space in the Port of Newark, plus a 30,000-square-foot warehouse with loading docks built for specialized cargo handling. In Savannah, our brand-new warehouse offers 316,800 square feet on a 30-acre site in the Port of Savannah.
Having space at both ports means cargo does not have to be trucked long distances inland before it can be stored, staged, or prepared for its next leg — one warehousing partner at both ends of the East Coast.
Newark: In the Port
Our Newark warehouses sit inside the Port Newark–Elizabeth Marine Terminal itself — in the port, not outside the gates looking in. The 120,000-square-foot warehouse is anchored on 20 acres of yard space in the Port of Newark, so containers move only a short distance from the terminal into storage, and fast transfers between port and warehouse reduce transportation time and costs. The site also includes a 200,000-square-foot secure outdoor yard for oversized and out-of-gauge cargo that cannot go indoors. Alongside it, our 30,000-square-foot warehouse with loading docks is built for specialized cargo handling — freight that needs dock-level loading, careful staging, or preparation before its next move. The Newark facility runs modern inventory control software, so goods stay organized, accessible, and accounted for while they are stored, and it is home to our bonded Container Freight Station (CFS).
Savannah: Room to Grow
In Savannah, TRT’s newest warehouse gives cargo room to move: 316,800 square feet of state-of-the-art industrial warehouse space on a 30-acre site in the Port of Savannah. The facility is equipped with advanced technology and robust inventory management systems that provide real-time visibility into inventory levels, giving clients greater control over their goods while they are stored. That combination — a large footprint plus live inventory visibility — helps streamline operations, improve productivity, and reduce costly delays throughout the supply chain. The Savannah warehouse is built for receiving, storing, staging, and transloading big and heavy freight, including outdoor storage for out-of-gauge cargo that cannot fit inside a standard warehouse bay. Together with our Savannah drayage operation, it lets cargo come off the vessel, move a short distance to secure storage, and be prepared for onward transport under one roof and one team.

More Than Storage: Transloading, Bonded Space and Cargo Preparation
Warehouse space is only part of the job. Cargo often needs to change how it travels, wait for clearance, or be prepared before it moves on — and at TRT those steps happen under the same roof.
Transloading and onward transport
Freight arriving by container can be unloaded, sorted, and loaded for onward delivery, while our Drayage Services team handles port pickup and onward movement — storage and transport stay coordinated, not handed off between vendors.
Bonded storage in Port Newark
Our Newark location is home to our Bonded Warehouse — a bonded Container Freight Station (CFS) where in-bond cargo can be received and held close to the terminal while it awaits clearance or onward routing.
Outdoor storage for oversized cargo
Oversized and out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo that does not fit standard indoor storage can be kept in our secure outdoor yards, and prepared for its next move with our Wrapping & Craning and Specialized Services teams.
How transloading works at TRT
Transloading is how container freight changes its mode of travel — and doing it inside the same company that runs the drayage and the warehouse keeps every step coordinated:
- Port pickup — our Drayage Services team collects your container at Port Newark-Elizabeth or the Port of Savannah.
- Unload and sort — the container is unloaded at our warehouse, and the freight is sorted and checked against your instructions.
- Store or stage — cargo can move straight onto its next leg, or stay in short-term storage or our secure outdoor yard until its delivery window opens.
- Prepare and reload — freight that needs it is wrapped, crated, or secured by our Wrapping & Craning team, then loaded for onward delivery.
- Onward delivery — the shipment moves out on the right equipment — including oversize transportation for pieces that outgrow standard trailers.

While your cargo is with us, it is watched around the clock. All TRT warehouses have state-of-the-art surveillance and 24-hour security guards, and our facilities operate with 24/7 surveillance, gated access, and full perimeter protection; the Newark warehouse adds 24/7 security monitoring and advanced fire prevention systems. Our warehousing is fully compliant, bonded, and regularly inspected for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) standards. Handling is part of the service, too: professional securing methods, high-quality protective wrapping, and specialized equipment for loading and unloading protect freight every time it moves, and cargo that needs preparation can be packed and crated on site before it travels.
